100 motorcycles manufactured before 1917 from around the the world are making their way on a 3400 mile journey from Atlantic City to San Diego, and they are stopping for the night in Cape Girardeau on Wednesday, September 14th as they cross the Mississippi River via the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge! On Saturday, September 10th, riders will depart Atlantic City, New Jersey and travel across America to end up in San Diego, California on Monday, September 26th. Most of the route will be on two-lane back roads with less than 100 miles on interstate highways. An ambitious ride to say the least, averaging around 300 miles per day. This will be a true endurance run that will put these historic motorcycles to the test.
Come on down to the welcome party where you'll find a fun, festive community event with music, food, restaurants and stores open late. Hundreds of local vintage cars and motorcycles will be on display in addition to the 100 Race of the Century bikes along the Mississippi River Tales Mural in downtown Cape Girardeau, right on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River.
