Stearnsy Bears in Stotts City, Missouri, presents Big Griz from the Stearnsy Oddfellows Teddy Bear Collection. He is made from a wonderful vintage raccoon coat and stands about 24 ” tall. Stearnsy Oddfellows are one of kind bears, each made from something unique. It maybe a vintage fur or a wonderful old coat or an unusual piece of material, anything that we can make one or two bears from. We take these old furs, cut the pieces then cut and glue white muslin to each piece. This is a time consuming process but gives a fragile fur the strength needed to become a Stearnsy Bear. There may be small flaws or seam lines because of the age of the material or because of what it was. We just work with these and feel like it adds character to the bear. But it is always something that we will never find again even if we wanted to That makes each of them a treasure that can never be repeated.
