In 1792 Monsieur Louis Bolduc moved three miles inland with the rest of Ste. Geneieve after flooding of the Mississippi destroyed many of the houses. According to scientists who have studied the building there is at least one board in the Bolduc House ceiling which may have been salvaged from the original house.
