Missouri is home to many different rodeos all around the state.
Rodeos are an American tradition.
With the western expansion in the early 1800's, Eastern Americans were influenced by native styles of ranching. Soon, cattle drives became a major part of the Southwest's industry.
At the end of such long drives, the cowboys would hold competitions to show off their skills that they also used in their work. These competitions were formalized with the arrival of the Wild West Show, made famous by Buffalo Bill.
Now, this staple of the Old West is enjoyed by a new type of cowboy with rodeos across the country. Check out these Missouri rodeos coming up in the next few weeks.
