May 17, 1936: Dennis Hopper was born in Dodge City, Kansas. Later, his family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he grew up. Hopper made his film debut in the classic movie Rebel Without A Cause, which starred James Dean. He went on to direct and star in the film Easy Rider, which gained him an Oscar nomination. Hopper died in 2010.
