March 12, 1928: Composer Burt Bacharach was born on this day in Kansas City. He became famous for composing hit songs like "What's New Pussycat?" performed by Tom Jones and "One Less Bell To Answer" performed by St. Louis band The 5th Dimension. He also scored movies and appeared in television shows and movies, including cameo appearances in the Austin Powers film series.
