June 5, 1904: This was a highly eventful day in Missouri. Eight thousand people paid to see the bullfight at the arena during the World's Fair. However, the St. Louis County Sheriff stopped the show, and the angry crowd burned the building to the ground. The promoter donned a disguise and left with the receipts. That left the matador and the understudy arguing over money. Three days later, the understudy killed the matador.
