Christian Kent Nelson
January 24, 1922: On this date a school teacher and candy store owner, Christian Kent Nelson received a patent for ice cream dipped in chocolate. The treats were manufactured by a candy maker in Kansas City, Mr. Russell Stover. They were called “I-Scream Bars,” but they eventually became known as Eskimo Pies.
