February 8, 1947: Missouri’s first television station, KSDK-TV Went on the air. It was the second station west of the Mississippi. Only KTLA-TV in Los Angeles was older. KSD represents the initials of Joseph Pulitzer’s grandmother, Kate Star Davis.
