The Golden Ox has been serving delicious Kansas City steaks for over 60 years.
Since opening in 1949, the Golden Ox has been a Kansas City favorite.
The Golden Ox was originally opened by the President of the Kansas City Stockyards to serve those who came to the stockyards on business. At one point, 1.8 million head of cattle passed through the stockyards each year.
Now, with the stockyards since closed, the restaurant occupies the first floor of the Livestock Exchange Building near the center of where the Kansas City Stockyards once thrived.
Liking back to its roots, the Golden Ox serves only the best Kansas City steaks, aged and hand-cut, making it a prime example of exactly what Kansas City steaks are famous.
