Stroud's Pan Fried Chicken
Within sight of the Worlds of Fun water tower sits a Kansas City icon: Stroud’s Oak Ridge Manor. It’s a bit hard to find, but follow those little blue highway signs and reward yourself. Stroud’s menu includes beef, pork, and fish. But cut to the chase: Stroud’s is famous for pan-fried chicken, which has been featured in Gourmet Magazine, Bon Appétit, The New York Times, People Magazine, Condé Nast, and Esquire. Sit in the homey ambience of an old farmhouse, constructed in 1829, and let the friendly servers dote on you.
The regular dinner is served family-style, even for one, and includes homemade chicken noodle soup, four pieces of chicken, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy or cottage fries, and seasoned green beans, plus a cinnamon roll for less than fifteen bucks. Plus, you’ll likely have enough left over for lunch the next day.
