2 ounces yellow onion, diced

2 ounces green pepper, diced

4 ounces butter, divided

1/2 cup white wine

1 pound ground beef



1 can buttermilk biscuit dough

4 to 6 large Yukon Gold potatoes, chopped

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup cream

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups yellow cheddar, shredded


In a large skilled, saute onions and peppers in 2 ounces of the butter. Once onions are translucent, add the wine. Cook until wine is reduced by half, and add ground beef. Brown the beef, and drain the fat. Salt and pepper to taste. Grease a 9x9 inch pan, and spread the biscuit dough evenly on the bottom. Bake in a 350-degree heated oven for 5 minutes, and set aside. Boil the potatoes until tender, and mash them with sour cream, cream, garlic, and remaining butter. Salt and pepper to taste. Layer ground beef mixture onto the biscuit crust, and top with mashed potatoes. Cover potatoes with the cheddar, and bake in a 350-degree heated oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool pie slightly before serving. Serves 4.
