- 1/2 lime, quartered
- 1 tablespoon white or brown sugar
- 2 ounces rum
- Muddle lime with sugar in a shaker. Sugar should be mostly dissolved and the lime should have released most of its juice.
- Add rum and ice, toss back and forth a few times, and pour into rocks glass.
Tip: Use white sugar if you wish to have a brighter lime flavor. Use brown sugar if you wish to have a more authentic Brazilian-style cocktail.
