The chef at the winery shares special-occasion recipes you can make at home.
Perched atop a bluff overlooking the Missouri River, Les Bourgeois Bistro and Winery presents some of the finest food, wine, and scenery you'll find in the state. Just a mile north of Interstate 70 and fifteen miles west of Columbia, Les Bourgeois is a family affair. It started in 1985 when Dr. Curtis (Doc) and Martha Bourgeois made a batch of strawberry wine at home. Today, their vineyard is the fourth-largest in the state.
You can enjoy a glass of wine an appetizers at the original A-frame wine garden, then relax for a full meal in the bistro nearby. It was designed by the Bourgeois's architect son, Stephen. Older son Curtis is the general manager of the entire operation.
Each year the wine of Les Bourgeois vineyards wins tops awards, not only in Missouri but also at national and international competitions. Award-winning wine and beautifully designed restaurant with a spectacular view call for memorable food, and Chef Aaron Wells-Morgan delivers exactly that. Fortunately, he was willing to share some recipes for special occasions that can be made in the kitchen.
