Every year since 1863 the volunteers of the Platte County Fair have worked to make it more fun and entertaining for fair goers. But this year is sure to be the best EVER! The oldest continually running county fair west of the Mississippi will celebrate the 150th fair!
WHEN: So much fun is planned, the fair had to add a day to get it all in! It will run July 23-27. (Evenings 23-26 and all day and night July 27.) On July 23 the fair will open at 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: The Platte County Fairgrounds are located at exit 18 or 20 off Missouri’s I-29. (15730 Fairgrounds Road Tracy, MO 64079)
ADMISSION: ON JULY 23 ONLY there will be freeadmission so families can get in on the early bird-fun and special activities.
From July 24-27 daily admission is only $10 (including parking on the fairgrounds as available.) Children 12 years and younger are admitted free.
July 23 & 24 Season tickets at the gate will be $30.
DESCRIPTION: There will be lots of special events added to the fair this year, but all the traditional entertainment will be there, too. A huge carnival, queen contest, petting zoo, fiddle and talent showcases, 4-H exhibits, demolition derbies, Mud-a-Thon, NATIONALLY SANCTIONED truck and tractor pull, arts and crafts, a melodrama and more will await fairgoers. There will be food vendors, nightly musical entertainment, jugglers, and horse and mule shows, too. July 24-26 the gates open at 4:00 p.m. The carnival starts at 6:00 p.m. On July 27 shows start at 9:00 a.m. and exhibits, games and fun –including live music go on through the night. On Sat. the carnival runs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to closing.
