This free, family-oriented festival celebrates the wonder and power of fire, and includes a full day of activities, demonstrations, events and entertainment, including a pumpkin carving competition.
There will be glass blowing, Raku kiln firing and blacksmithing demonstrations, along with a wide variety of artisans, artists and crafters showcasing their wares. W.W.I and II re-enactors in full regalia will be encamped, and canon firing and pumpkin catapulting demonstrations will occur throughout the day.
Entertainment during the day will include live music, storytellers and a tractor rodeo. After sundown the St. Louis Hoop Club will perform. The big event will begin around 6:30pm, with the torching of the House of Ice, followed by the Trebuchet flaming pumpkin firing. A “Burning Man” Scuplture will also be ignited by flaming arrow on the oppisite bank of the Missouri River.
