Duane Reed Gallery presents the latest work of artist Eva Isaksen.
Eva Isaksen was born and raised in Bodø, Norway and currently lives and works in Seattle, Washington. Isaksen’s intricate artworks are created through an equally intricate process combining collage, printmaking, and painting techniques. Using items from her garden, Isaksen creates monoprints on fiber paper, which are layered with an acrylic medium, leaving visible only what has been printed. Each artwork consists of numerous layers of monoprints, creating one cohesive composition full of color and depth. Material and environment dialogue within her vision as organic forms, seasons, cycles, growth, and regeneration transform into order, repetition, and rhythm. Her art-making process of print, resist, and reduction further resembles the growth and cyclic changes in nature.
Isaksen’s work has been exhibited internationally and is part of public and private collections in Norway, Japan, and the United States. Isaksen was also honored with a Fellowship from Artists Trust in 2011.
