In the heart of Historic Downtown Hannibal, where Mark Twain’s spirit still lingers in the air like the scent of freshly baked cookies, chocolate-chip, of course, there’s a celebration of chocolate coming!

The Chocolate Extravaganza runs from March 8th to March 10th, 2024, in Hannibal, where the charming streets will be transformed into a chocolate lover’s paradise, where every nook and cranny will hold the promise of a chocolate treat.

Here’s just a sample of what tickets can be exchanged for:

  • Sip on spiked hot chocolate at Cave Hollow West Winery
  • Munch on Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream Nachos at Smooth As Ice
  • Try a Chocolate Pepsi Milkshake at Becky’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor & Emporium
  • Sample a Chocolate Pastry Stout at Great River Brewing Company

But you don’t have to eat or drink everything: Here are some other things you can exchange for tickets:

  • Score a hand-made spoon rest, cereal bowl, or cup at Ayers Pottery
  • Pick up an insulated cup at Native American Trading Company 
  • Indulge in a hand and arm massage with a chocolate paraffin dip at The Powder Room.

More than 20 vendors will offer a tantalizing array of chocolate-infused treats or other goodies. This chocolate festival offers a passport for free to anyone who comes, however, you have to buy a chocolate passport to exchange tickets for treats or gifts at each store. The free passport will contain coupons to use at different places, and anyone can visit the stores to see what they have. Passports with tickets range in price from $30 for five tickets, $60 for 10 tickets, or  $120 for 20 tickets, You may preorder tickets here. Then simply pick up your passport at the Mark Twain Museum Gallery. Or you can buy your passports when you arrive.
