Coke gives $25,000 to Joplin park
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon will be on hand Friday as the Coca-Cola Company awards a $25,000 to aid in the Joplin rebuilding effort.
The company’s donation will go toward rebuilding Cunningham Park, which was devastated by the May 22 tornado that ripped through Joplin and left 161 people dead.
Cunningham Park was the third-place winner in grant contest sponsored by Coca-Cola to give funds to American parks.
