    So, Ms Wood, you groaned when you had to cut Calamity Jane from the "Top Ten Women" in Missouri history. I hope it wasn't too loud a lament. From having women who cured diseases to one who may have given men disease. Yes, she worked as a prostitute at Three-Mile Hog Ranch outside Fort Laramie. Why is it
    notoriety gets one high marks in Missouri. Let's add Jesse and Frank James, Archie Clements, and Bloody Bill Anderson to Top Ten Men of Mo. Don't worry as the Hog Ranch is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Meanwhile contributing, "plain jane' women live and die and one never reads anything about them save their obituary.
