If you’re an Ameren Missouri customer, your bill is about to go up. The Missouri Public Service Commission has granted the utility a 260-million dollar rate increase for Ameren’s electric customers.
That figures out to about ten dollars a month for an average residential customer.
The increase is about two-thirds as much as Ameren was asking for. Ameren will use the increased revenue for infrastructure upgrades and for energy efficiency programs which in the long run will save consumers money.
The increase is the utility’s fifth in the last six years. Ameren provides electricity for about one-point-two million customers in Missouri.
