Celebrate with St. Charles
In 2009, all roads lead to St. Charles because the city is celebrating its two hundredth anniversary as an incorporated town. But technically you can add another forty years to that as the first settlement on the banks of the Missouri river was made in 1769. Four years ago, St. Charles celebrated the bicentennial of the start of the Lewis and Clark expedition, so the citizens are well versed in how to create great events that celebrate their history. Many of the shopkeepers along historic Main Street dress in period costume during these special celebrations.
Missouri Life is proud to be producing a special souvenir book commemorating the St. Charles Bicentennial that will be published in May. Missouri Life was chosen as the publisher by the city of St. Charles. Be sure to keep an eye out for all their upcoming events in our special St. Charles section in the June issue and at MissouriLife.com.
