MISSOURI LIFE MAGAZINE IS SEEKING A SALES SUPERSTAR!

Unlike some magazines and other print publications, Missouri Life circulation and ad sales are still growing. Our magazine advertising is on a 5% growth rate thus far for the year, and our orders for newsstands doubled this past year. We are expanding our advertising sales team, seeking smart, ambitious people who can help us build our brand. We expect to continue to grow, so the opportunity to grow with us exists.

  • If you are an experienced media sales person with a string of sales victories with the desire and ability to help build a sales team and grow into an ad director position, we’d like to hear from you.
  • If you are entry level but can demonstrate enthusiasm, persistence, sensitivity, independence, leadership, and ability to build rapport, we’d like to hear from you.
  • You will be selling, in addition to the magazine, custom publishing (huge opportunity), MissouriLife.com, Missouri Lifelines, our e-newsletter, Missouri eLife, our digital edition.

Job Description
To create new ad sales revenue and renew existing customers, working from our office in Boonville (about 20 minutes outside of Columbia, Missouri.)

Specific responsibilities:

  • Help develop and implement creative sales strategies.
  • Build strategic alliances with both new and existing advertisers to increase advertising revenue.
  • Contact with customers will be through face-to-face interaction, telephone and written correspondence.
  • Travel as needed.

Experience Necessary for the Advanced Position:
Face-to-face and phone selling experience desirable; marketing ability; strategic planning skills; superior presentation and communication skills; excellent consultative selling skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; analytical ability; listening skills; creative ideas to assist our customers in achieving their marketing goals. College degree.

Editorial Internships

Thirty minutes west of Columbia in Boonville, Missouri Life, an award-winning bi-monthly publication, is looking for Fall 2009 interns. We offer comprehensive, educational internships so only serious students and recent graduates need apply. You will gain intimate knowledge of the magazine industry while writing, accuracy checking, editing and proofreading articles. These positions are unpaid, but college credit can be arranged with your college or university.
