An unusual gift
If I were having birthdays, which I'm not, this might have been a birthday present from my husband Greg. It's enhanced by the silver artistry of Best of Missouri Hands artist Mary Beth St. Clair, from Wyaconda. It seems I'm meeting arrowhead hunters wherever I go. My borther-in-law, the sculptor Charles Strain, has an amazing collection; Greg is always in our creeks; and the guy repairing the roof of our church has an extensive collection, I'm told.
Our house actually overruns with bit and pieces of pretty rock, interesting fossils, broken bits and pieces of arrowheads--the good ones go in a display case--, and curious formations. I use some on my plant stands; others sit on window ledges; and I have a whole table full of display cases. There's an egg basket full of broken pieces, a woven oak basket on the porch full of the same, and I'm always finding pieces on the kitchen window ledge. If anyone has some great ideas for displaying the good ones, I'd love to hear them. But, my necklace is by far the most creative use I've ever seen, and I love it. It's my new favorite necklace.
